Mile 19, Howgill 26 mountain marathon

Based in the north of England I trained and then worked as an engineer for nearly two decades, during which time I completed editorial, corporate, and commercial photography commissions covering an extensive list of corporations, small firms and individuals.

Initially using photography as a means of recording my passion for climbing and caving, progressing to adventures both above and below ground in remote places all over the world including expeditions to the Himalayas, West Africa, Australasia and the Middle East.

Whether accessing Liverpool Cathedral's immense stain glass windows using complex vertical access techniques or perched precariously on the front of a Celtic longboat in the Irish Sea, this apprenticeship of being in difficult situations means I can keep a cool head and produce results that always meet clients' expectations.

I've been described as a designer's photographer, always conscious of the designer's layout and brief whilst shooting. I believe that photographers are hired for their vision, they create work just like artists, they are commissioned for their resourcefulness and they earn their reputation on the strength of their work.

Can you trust me for your project? Yes. Here's why. I've followed the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Revd Justin Welby either side of evensong for two completely different styles of portrait, I've photographed CEO's for companies such as the Ministry of Defence and Ron Hill Sports. I've received personal praise from Richard Attenborough, who to quote 'he's right in it, you feel like you're there'. I've also worked for the BBC.

This is the experience I will bring to your project, you tell me what you need and when you need it and I'll make sure you get it.
